The Frist Center offers a variety of options for Pre-K–12 student groups such as schools, pre-school programs, afterschool programs, home school groups, and youth groups, including docent-guided Look and Learn Tours and Discovery Tours, self-guided tours, and several hands-on activities. Reservations are required at least 3 weeks in advance. Student tours of selected exhibitions support the Tennessee Curriculum Frameworks (PDF - Adobe Acrobat® required) by introducing themes that are relevant to visual arts, language arts, and/or social studies curricula. TO SCHEDULE A STUDENT VISIT: Review all the exhibtion tour options and hands-on acitivties. Check the AVAILABLE DATES calendar before submitting the Student Visit Request Form (August 2008–May 2009) by mail or fax to 615.744.3965. COST OF SCHEDULED VISITS: Student groups, receive free admission for all participants age 18 and under and 1 free adult for every 10 students. Additional adults are charged $7.00 each. CHAPERONE REQUIREMENTS: All student groups must be accompanied by one adult chaperone (including teacher) for every 10 students. Groups with less than the required number of adults may not be allowed to continue their tour. Chaperones are requested to stay with their students throughout the visit. TRANSPORTATION SUBSIDIES: To defray the cost of bus transportation, subsidies of up to $50.00 per school are available to groups of 40 or more on a first-come, first-served basis to public schools in Tennessee. Teachers may request a transportation subsidy by checking the appropriate box on the Student Visit Request Form.
